Don’t turn away. Keep your gaze on the bandaged place. That’s where the light enters you.

Jennie Panchy, MFA

Marriage & Family Student Intern

Hello and welcome. My name is Jennie Panchy (she/her/hers), and I am a Marriage and Family Therapy clinical intern. I believe deeply in our human capacity for change, and I am grateful to join you on your journey.

Our relationships with ourself and others determine our well-being, and these relationships require consistent, intentional nurturance and care. Seeking therapy is an act of courage and kindness: it honors our relationship with self and others by seeking meaningful, positive change. It can also, at times, be challenging and uncomfortable work. My goal is to provide for you a compassionate, hopeful, non-judgmental space to safely explore—at your own pace—where you have been, where you are, and where you may choose to be.

My style is open, warm, collaborative, and direct. As a former domestic and sexual violence counselor and advocate, I have experience working with clients impacted by trauma, attachment injury, and wounded self-esteem. I believe in a creative, flexible, holistic approach to healing: we may invite wellness in through many different doors. I bring to our therapeutic relationship the guiding principles of emotionally-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness. Central to our work together, however, is you: your experience, your wisdom, your insight, and your goals for meaningful life changes.

I am committed, both professionally and personally, to antiracist, culturally humble principles and practices.

Jennie cannot accept insurance as payment but is seeing client’s at a reduced fee of $50/session.

Jennie provides in-person care on Thursdays and Fridays.

A Little More About Me

My first career was in education; I hold a BA from Vassar College in English and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College. In August of 2025, I will earn my Master of Family Therapy degree from Southern Connecticut State University’s Marriage and Family Therapy program. I love books and art and an impromptu dance party! From spring to fall, you will find me outdoors, covered in dirt, digging, weeding, and planting the garden. I cherish time with my friends.

I am grateful daily for the support, love, and humor of my husband and children.
