“Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.”
Reyna Zascirinskis, LPC, ATR
Hello! My name is Reyna Zascirinskis (pronouns: she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). I believe that every human being has the ability to tap into their creativity as a way to heal. I have a passion for sharing the broad scope of what creativity and artmaking can provide for each individual. I have both seen and experienced the ways that artmaking can support one’s journey to emotional well-being and balance.
My personal journey of discovering the healing power of artmaking led me to the career path that I have found, and this allows me the ability to hold and maintain a safe space for my clients to face challenges, solve problems, and grow. I believe therapy is a place to prioritize you. In our current world, where opportunities to truly connect with others and create time for intentional self-reflection is difficult to find, this is my invitation to you in our therapeutic relationship, whether we make art together, or not!
I received my Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Albertus Magnus College, and have had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations and settings. I love working with adolescents, teens, and young adults. I have experience with individuals, families, and groups in outpatient and community based settings. I am particularly passionate about working with and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, including providing letters for Gender Affirming Medical Care. I also have experience around anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, and eating disorders.
A Little More About Me
Outside of work, I’m an avid reader, and my to be read list grows faster than I can turn pages. I also have found self-care practices in connecting with nature, whether it be hiking, walking, swimming outdoors, or camping. Of course, I also make art in my free time, for pleasure. On the weekends you can find me perusing the local craft stores, hunting down art supplies that I have never used, and then dedicating some time to just “flow” with whatever I bring home.
Reyna participates with Anthem BC/BS, Aetna and Husky only.
Reyna will be providing in-person sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
