When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.

Tina Gasper, LPCA

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

Hi, my name is Tina Gasper (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. I work under the supervision of Jessica Maroun, LPC. I earned my Master’s Degree from Bay Path University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  My experience thus far in my career has allowed me the privilege to help individuals of all ages who may be struggling with challenges that include substance abuse and recovery, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, depression, grief, and difficult life transitions.

Starting therapy, whether it be for the first time or you’re looking for a new start can bring on feelings of nervousness, fear, anxiety or even excitement.  I hope to invite you to a safe, warm, and welcoming space to enable you to explore and embrace positive self-growth.

Sometimes, life is not easy or what we expect it to be.  We may feel that our lives are falling apart around us, or that we just can’t seem to find the answers we are searching for.  We can feel lost, alone, frustrated, sad, angry, overwhelmed, and regretful.  Taking the steps to recognize that you need help is an accomplishment all on Its own, and then accepting the help is a sign of growth already.  It can be extremely difficult, confusing, and sometimes scary to grasp ahold of these feelings and to try to understand them alone.  But when we have someone to help us navigate these feelings, we can start to gain the strength to understand ourselves on a deeper level and begin to heal.

I believe every individual is unique in their own exceptional way.  My goal is to help you achieve your goals to become your true authentic self by gaining strength, insight, and resilience by providing unconditional support, validation, acceptance, and genuineness.

Tina can accept Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, and Husky.

Tina provides in-person or telehealth/virtual services Monday-Friday.

A Little More About Me

Professionally I have worked in the human service field for over 20 years working for individuals with intellectual and related disabilities.  I am an advocate for human rights believing that everyone has the right to live a life of quality and inclusion. Some of the best people I have ever met were working for the population.  I learned how to be grateful, patient, humble, and driven.   Most importantly, I learned how to listen even when someone cannot speak.  I became certified to conduct abuse and neglect investigations so I could give them a voice in times when it was necessary.

On a lighter note, I have three rescue pups: two Beagles and a mixed hound.  Besides my husband, they are my first loves.  I also enjoy being with my friends and family, traveling to new places, and meeting new people.  I play the game of pool and am on a pool league, I love to be on the beach, taking in all of what nature has to offer.  I am also kind of a foodie when it comes to homemade Italian cooking.

I have overcome many of life’s challenges to get to where I am today, and I feel incredibly grateful and honored to have the opportunity to help others through life’s challenges.
